they ended up together. the writer had intended for the building up of their happily ever after to be more subtle. not in a more open manner because both of their characters are not like that, especially not cauliflower. but the shaking of hands in the final episode meant that she had accepted his love.

i love the story but,im not so hapi because in the end an zhen and mr.lan, not show if they end together,,,an zhen smile in mr.lan when he ask if the hand shake means that he has no chance again..whats the meaning of that smile???? why an zhen didn`t answer the question..i hope there`s a part 2 and continue the love theme of an zhen and mr.lan….
didn’t you understand the meaning of the handshake? look closely at the expression in her eyes, the way they shook each other’s hands, and more importantly, the MANNER in which she smiled. compare the handshake when an zhen had rejected him. it was firm in comparison to the handshake at the very end, which was more of him taking her hand and caressing it. yes, it was the handshake that said “yes, i accept your love and i’m now ready to take a chance with you. Moreover, in that scene an zhen was in line walking towards him slowly while he signed autographs, all the while recalling all those moments that had meaning to her. also, before that, those newspaper articles (which i believe were “love letters” written by him to her) were kept by an zhen in a scrapbook which was similar to what she had done with those “how to be a perfect wife” at the beginning. the ending had a lot of symbolisms. you just have to watch closely since it was done in a very subtle manner. i believe that YES THEY ENDED UP TOGETHER.
i also believe the same… why else would she religiously read the journal everyday and turn down her husband. I like the unpredictable course of the story. I’m wishing for more. . .

I pity An Zhen’s ex-husband in the end (though he did not deserve that after what he did . He was just lost in his life…. Zhen’s changes are far too drastic…how could the characters of a person could change in a short period of time? Logically, no matter how much she has changed, being a traditional woman as portrayed in this drama, Zhen’s choice should have been the husband (for the sake of the family & daughter).

This drama is good it can be related into lives.I like so much that I believe the whole drama.This about the only drama that make you all your emotions.I was kinda of mad when watching this drama because of the husband actions.he loveddddddd that witch so much to the point I wanted to reach threw my laptop and snatch a mud hole threw his ass. The best part was was the smack from hell it made the witch come up out her shoes(ep.13 part 2).The husband was a good for nothing bastard.This drama had me messed up I started calling people to to tell them about this drama.

one of the best in 2010! you won’t see other character developments except the 4 leads. the storyline only revolves around these 4 people. if one watns to see any twist or turns , you will be disappointed. Because the drama is so direct and well-presented. very touching because it can happen in REAL:LIFE, very down-to-earth.

I love this drama. It reflects the real life in the real world. It ables me to sit back and have my own reflection. Thus making me an improved human being…in my own married life. Thank you, Sonia, for your resplendent acting skill.
The ending should be more romantic, at least they should be embracing and locked in each others arms, its over a year you know. The Director does not know how to end the show in a lovey dovey manner, how about reshoot the last 1 minute of the show.
fantastic show, good acting – touching at times but title is not correctly titled – she not fierce she is too timid, serene and fragile. Of all casts Mr Lan Tianwei is so good in his acting – natural and depits his character. He won her and that’s a good ending but not romatic enough to show that they love each other so much that Soniahas to look for him Very moving indeed especially the very end. You can see each other eye contact and the smile on each other heart. What a moving ending.
i think that there is a wrong interpretation of the word XI LI which should mean ,,,,with sharp mind . Fierce is not apt for the word xi li.

What made this drama so successful was the fact that it wasn’t the typical “idol” drama with unrealistic events – everything in the plot was so real and possibly happens in everyday life, so viewers were able to relate to it so well. On top of that, the cast (esp. Amanda Zhu) did such an amazing job.

I’m pretty sure Laaaa watched the movie in Taiwan this summer, as did I. That’s the only way anyone could have seen the movie.
Although the ending of the movie is pretty obvious without even having to watch the actual movie (the trailers released give enough away already), I still think a spoiler alert of a sort should be put up. 🙂
