yea shancai crossed the line.
These subtitles don’t make sense a lot of the times. The words “like” and ‘love” are both used, yet these words have different meaning. It is hard to understand if Si likes or loves Shancai. Shancai is quite irritating. They are supposed to be in their 20’s, yet Shancai acts about as mature and smart as a child. Just because one is a virgin or from a poor family, doesn’t mean they have to depict them as completely stupid when it comes to relationships.
Just like JanDi in BOF who could not ever say she liked or loved Jun Pyo until the end, it seems this version also follows that and it is annoying. How much more does this guy have to do to prove his love for her? This girl is dumb.
Also, so far it seems the mother in the Korean version was more ruthless.
The problem with “like” and “love” is that the same word is used in Chinese to mean both things sometimes, 喜欢 (xihuan) is used to describe both feelings, and the context is used to know the meaning. Usually if a guy tells a girl he “likes” her, it means he “loves” her. English is actually the same, we say “I like him” and it can mean anything from a crush to genuine true love.
[YT] Know it’s just a tv drama but…know what? I think there are more bad people like her in the world, than good people (I’m talking about Si’s mom… but I think you all had already guessed it)!
This… makes me a bit sad…

[YT] You could be more patient. I know MG1 is a lot better than MG2, but the ending is pretty good in MG2, and Shancai and Daoming Si do get together. You should watch MG2, and not skip any episodes like other people, because you might not understand what happened if you skip episodes.

But for Season 1, Daoming Shi and Shancai will be happily together, and his mom will agree for them to like each other, though there are going to be some obstacles to overcome. Still, at the end of Season 2, Daoming Shi gets his memories back. We should’t talk a lot about Season 2, though. It would make the others thumbs down us and they probably wouldn’t want to hear about the bad things.
