Die Sterntaler / 白色之戀 is a remake of Hoshi no Kinka also known as Heaven’s Coins / Die Sterntaler, an NTV Japanese drama that broadcast April 12, 1995 to July 12, 1995 and Hoshi no Kinka spawned sequels: Heaven’s Coin 2 | Zoku Hoshi no Kinka (NTV / 1996) and Heaven’s Coin SP (NTV / 1997) and Heaven’s Coin 3 | Shin Hoshi no Kinka (NTV / 2001).
The alternate title “Die Sterntaler” comes from a German fairy tale concerning an orphan girl who had gave up all her belongings to ease the sufferings of other people she confronted along her path. At the end, she was rewarded as the stars fell down upon her and became gold coins.
Also, South Korea remade this story in 2005 as Spring Days starring Go Hyung Jung, Ji Jin Hee, and Jo In Sung which was broadcast on SBS from January 08, 2005 to March 13, 2005 with 20 episodes

He Yun Cai 何筠彩 (Xie Xin Ying (謝欣穎)), a deaf girl, fell in love with Chu Yong Xiu (Rhydian Vaughan), a new doctor volunteering at her grandfather’s small clinic in Hokkaido.
